Dear Puppets Pizzazz, I am writing to you regarding my special needs son. My sister spoke with you about how your puppet show impacted my son 'Nicholas'. 'Nicholas has a rare neurological disorder called Tuberous Sclerosis. He has very serious health problems (brain tumors, seizures, kidney and heart tumors). In addition, he is developmentally delayed with behavioral issues. 'Nicholas' has always responded to music which is used at home and at school. But, until your show, we did not know that puppets could be so powerful and educational for him. At home, we are using puppets daily to strengthen his pretend-play skills, express his needs more appropriately and for him to better understand the rules/following directions. At School, his speech therapist is using puppets during his sessions which helps to keep him on task and make the session more enjoyable and productive. In addition, she is using the puppets to teach 'Nicholas' about emotions and how to express feelings. His teacher is using the puppets as reinforcers for good behavior. It is amazing how he has responded so quickly to this art form. Luckily, my brother-in-law videotaped your show and 'Nicholas' watches it on a regular basis. Thank you so very much for sharing your theatrical art with our family. Puppets Pizzazz has truly touched Nicholas in such a positive way. |
SUMMER CAMPS On behalf of the children and staff of Newtown Township Summer Camps we would like to thank Puppets Pizzazz for visiting our camps this summer. Dear Barbara, A big thanks to you and Dorie for a superb series of programs that really enhanced our summer reacing clubs at sixteen libraries this summer. What fun the kids had during the show. It was well planned out - and paced so that just as the kids might be getting restless there was a very active section to get the wiggles out. I attended at the Warminster Library during an evening program and I bet those children went right to sleep that night. In their attendance report to me, the librarians were mentioning different parts of the program that seemed to have special appeal to their audience and it was fun to see the variety of things that they picked out. I appreciated the many references to reading and to books. That was most appropriate for a library setting! Using jokes between skits was another encouragement to use the library to find some good riddle books. I appreciated your efforts to arrive early so that the librarian could relax and enjoy the arrival of the audience - knowing that the performers have safely arrived. You certainly put a lot of energy into the presentation to make it fun, lively, and fast-moving for the children. The puppets were large and dramatic, making them easy to see from the back of the room. Doing a quick and early check a week ago, it seemed like we had record numbers at most of the shows. Thanks again to both of you for providing a wonderful program for sixteen of our public libraries in Bucks Coungy. Wishing you every success. |

PUPPETS PIZZAZZ - A DELIGHTFUL PROGRAM Puppets Pizzazz is an exciting and stimulating experience for students. All the classes at Saint Bede the Venerable School located in Holland, Pennsylvania, thoroughly enjoyed the show. Audience participation is encouraged and our students (ranging from Kindergarten to Grade Eight) responded by clapping and singing along. What a positive way to stimulate interest in theater, music, and good entertainment which this program offers. It is always a pleasure for me to welcome Puppets Pizzazz to Saint Bede the Venerable School and to recommend the program to other schools. It is a fun, positive, affordable program offering audience participation which is suitable for a variety of ages. |

To Whom It May Concern: On Wednesday, July 31, 1991, Puppets Pizzazz performed for all 150 of our three to eight year olds. Incredibly, this hard-to-please group sat mesmerized throughout the entire show. Usually when we have children's entertainers perform here at camp, they have a hard time holding the kids' attention. But the kids loved every minute of Puppet Pizzazz's performance. We were very pleased with it and plan on having Puppets Pizzazz back again next summer. P.S. The counselors enjoyed the show, too! |
